Roger Hill’s EC Fan-Addict #4, Zoologia, Four cover variations of Detective #1000, Several good new graphic novels and Spectrums on sale!

Roger Hill's EC Fan-Addict #4 is in, with all kinds of fun articles. Zoologia is packed with brilliant, totally unique creature designs. We have four cover variations of the popular Detective #1000 and it's really a sharp issue, even if you haven't read a Batman comic in years.

Several good new graphic novels this week, my favorite is Out of the Blue by Garth Ennis and Keith Burns; I just began reading Mata Hari so jury's out on this but artistically it's good. The Marvel Universe exhibit catalog is a very nice surprise, with lots of cool rarities, interviews and articles by famous folks. And we have four Spectrums in an exclusive sale, they've been tucked away at a publisher warehouse for many years.

EC FAN-ADDICT #4 FANZINE
Our Highest Recommendation. By Roger Hill. Remember the days of fabulous, high quality fanzines like Squa Tront, filled with fascinating new information about EC artists, and never-before-seen artwork? Well, look no more, long-time fan Roger Hill brings it all back in another great issue. Previously unpublished Wally Wood (from his wartime years), Frank Frazetta (a look at ALL his newspaper strips), a wonderful look at the Art of EC Comics Exhibit's opening night, the REAL story (and Pogo art) behind Wood leaving Mad, the amazing Wood Studio diorama...and much more. Roger Hill, 2019...More.

Item Code: ECF04
Soft Cover, 8x11, 66pg, Partial Color
$20.00

A new issue of this classic zine is a rare event...in this case, three years since the last issue. I love ‘em, and I find most veteran fans do also. Here's the other two available issues. We are one of the very few sources for these.

Click on this to see five pictures I took personally of the Wally Wood Diorama, the subject of one of the articles in this new issue. I first saw this at the OAF show in October 2016, and snapped these. Been showing them to friends ever since. We posted these on Facebook Wednesday and already are getting quite a buzz. Here's a link to us on Facebook.

MATA HARI The Untold Story of the Original Femme Fatale
"...visually lush, emotionally rich..." -Kelly Sue DeConnick Recommended. By Emma Beeby. Art by Ariela Kristantina, Pat Masioni et al. Dancer. Courtesan. Spy. News and Notes

Sanjulian sold out

Last week this turned out to be the absolute fastest selling book that I ever remember handling. We brought in just under 100 of the soft and hardcover, and the hardcovers were gone in less than 24 hours, by Friday, and the softcovers were gone by Monday. There is a tiny chance we might get a few more, but it's unlikely. The publisher turned down Diamond Comics' order, so besides Kickstarter, we were one of the only sources for the book. I am pleading with the publisher, Steve Morger of Big Wow, to reprint this.

I expect a LOT more people would like to see it. Like other quickly sold out books, The Art of Reed Crandall and Sky Masters: The Complete Sundays, this also deserves to be seen by far more people. Sadly, our newsletter people, who depend on a printed version of this weekly email, missed out entirely on this, since internet folks by default get first shot. Stay tuned, maybe the publisher will make it work for another edition.
