The USS Stevens was one of the first books we sold out at Comic-Con. Sergio Aragones came by and bought one, and then sent other artists over until they were gone. It’s a great book, I’m still working my way through it (it’s massive). Glanzman is a sensitive, articulate storyteller who portrays the realities of Navy life during the war—nothing glorified or exaggerated. Sam also drew The Unauthorized Tarzan, published by Dark Horse in 2013. This collects the 4-issue Charlton comic book series from 1964-65, before it was taken off sale due to copyright violations. It was actually more true to Tarzan than the contemporary Dell Comics. It remains a fan favorite and is dificult to find in the original issues. [UNTH. Here’s a link to Sam’s bio on Wikipedia. |
