THE ART OF JEFFREY JONES Signed Deluxe
Signed & numbered, 1200! 16 extra pages. Our Highest Recommendation. Edited by Cathy and Arnie Fenner. Jeff passed away in 2011, but thanks to publisher Underwood Books, we are able to offer his finest art book complete with signature and slipcase and 16 bonus pages, at a price far below anything on the internet. From the 1960s through the early 1980s Jeffrey Jones was one of the most respected creators of fantasy and science fiction art. Comfortable as both a book cover illustrator and as a comics artist, Jones gained a large and loyal following that resulted in his being honored with a World Fantasy Award for Best Artist. Underwood Books, 2002. Out of Print. Mature Readers...More.

Item Code: ARTJJD
Hard Cover, 9x12, 176pg, Full Color
$140.00

Underwood gave us some of these several years ago, long after we'd sold out our original copies. And we quickly sold those out at a premium price. Now he's given us the last of his copies, put aside many years ago in his storage container. When I thought I only was getting 8 copies, I priced this at $300. But he surprised us with more copies, so I'm dramatically reducing that price. This gives you an extra-good deal, far below anything available on the internet. I may raise the price later on, based on how these go, since this is an extraordinary book and, I feel, a bargain at this price.

PALEOART Visions of The Prehistoric Past 1830-1980
Highly Recommended. By Zoë Lescaze. Preface by Walton Ford. In this unprecedented (and enormous), new book, writer Zoë Lescaze and artist Walton Ford present the astonishing history of paleoart from 1830 to 1990, including eight fold-out pages. These are modern visions of prehistory: stunning paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, mosaics, and murals that mingle scientific fact with unbridled fantasy. Here is an in-depth look at this neglected niche of art history, also revealing how artists projected their own aesthetic, rendering the primordial past with dashes of Romanticism, Impressionism, Japonisme, and Art Nouveau, among other influences. Taschen, 2017...More.

An impressive, king-sized book that was rather expensive originally, but now a bargain. Dedicated sleuthing has unearthed a never-published series of Sunday pages by Winsor McCay that was lost following the artist's untimely death. Titled simply Dino, it opens a surprising new window into McCay's work and here it's showcased from the original art, which serves to introduce this examination of our fascination with dinosaurs and King Kong over the decades. 650 reproductions and photos, 250 in full color. YUMMY The Good Girl Art of Matt Dixon Deluxe Signed
With bonus 7x10 color print, signed & numbered from 100! Recommended. Dixon loves genre ladies and we have a fine variety here: fairy tale characters, a startling fairy, spear-wielding girls, girls with monster buddies, a pirate, a space girl in a skintight costume, a green alien lady, Tomb Raider-type, mermaids, one with tentacles instead of a fin. And some nicely serious portraits of darker more serious ladies, showing Dixon's skill as a fine artist. The print features a very pretty witch in revealing overalls, surounded by pumpkins. No nudity here, but lots of pretty ladies who aren't shy about being sexy. SQP, 2017. Mature Readers...More.

In a new and different body! Somewhere you have to fight to survive. Somewhere the people from the past are waiting for you—the good and the bad. A very unusual story, with exceptionally sharp artwork. BETTIE THE INCOMPARABLE BETTIE PAGE Archives of Irving Klaw
By Irving Klaw. Written by Cara Winter. The collaboration between Bettie Page and Irving Klaw produced photographs that are far more than mere pin-ups. They have given generations of people something to admire, by showing one strong, unapologetic woman, at home in her curvaceous body. While by today's standards some of these photographs may seem tame, even humorous, there was nothing funny about what Bettie and Irving were up to. They were, perhaps unwittingly, blazing a trail for future pro-sex feminists to follow, by creating a portrait of a woman's life built on confidence, tolerance, and sexual freedom. PSG, 2017. News and Notes

Roger Hill’s Reed Crandall: Illustrator of the Comics

This has unexpectedly gone OUT OF PRINT. I’ve pushed this hard, giving it my highest recommendation, because it is truly a fine book. The bad news is it’s not going to be reprinted and we’ve had to raise the price to full retail [REEDCH. $49.99] because we had to go to a secondary source (with a low discount) to get more copies. The good news is that we have some still available. The other good news is that Twomorrows is already planning a softcover edition, but we don’t have a publication date or price yet.

Kirby100 OUT OF PRINT

Also no longer available from the publisher is the special edition of Kirby100 [KIR100H. $45.95]. This special hardcover edition is limited to 1000, and boasts a 16-page bonus section. We haven’t gotten our initial shipment yet, and we still have copies so you can still reserve one! But act soon, we ordered up but they may go fast now.

Also available is the softcover edition [ $34.95, your price $29.95]. That has not yet arrived here either. But any day now...
