ADVENTURES INTO THE UNKNOWN Volume 12 Collects #65-71, 1955-56. Highly Recommended. By Ogden Whitney, Harry Lazarus, Kurt Schaffenberger, John Rosenberger The Comics Code in general tamped down creativity and variety in comics. Stan Lee's Atlas line was a good example of this, at least until Kirby and Ditko came back on board. But for editor and writer Richard Hughes, this brought out his absolute best. Stories explored totally new avenues, with more time travel, sci-fi and excellent charactization and complex plots, He even takes 10 or 12 pages to develop a good story, rather than the industry standard of just 6 or 8.
