BILL WARD The Fantagraphics Studio Edition Introduction by burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese. Recommended. Bill Ward’s glamour girls were the staples of countless men’s and humor magazines, where they shared the pages with cult models like Bettie Page, Tina Louise, and Julie Newmar, and cartoons by fellow “good girl” artists such as Archie’s Dan Decarlo and Playboy’s Jack Cole. Imagine if you will, an innocent but stunning young woman boasting wildly exaggerated, Barbie-like proportions poured into a wisp of lingerie or clingy cocktail dress and adorned in diamond necklaces with opera-length gloves and high stiletto heels, and you’ve got the recipe for the quintessential Bill Ward glamour girl. Fantagraphics, 2024. Rush Service and International shipping would require an additional charge. Mature Readers....More. Item Code: BILLWH Hard Cover, 13x17, 180pg, Full Color $150.00 |

ALSO AVAILABLE INCOGNITO Strange Neighbors and Distant Relations Signed Signed! Highly Recommended. Fantasy artist Ed Binkley's fascination with stories of goblins, fairies, dragons, ogres, werewolves, imps, banshees, elves and other eerie things, along with his admiration of portraiture, nineteenth century photography and daguerreotypes, provided the inspiration for his bizarre portraits here of dark, otherworldly humans and creatures. Each character contains exquisite detail, displaying a distinct personality, some abundantly dark and creepy, some humorous, almost joyful, but always allowing viewers to fill in back-stories using their own imagination. ATLAS COMICS LIBRARY Number 2 Venus Volume 2 Collects Venus #10-19, 1950-52. Our Highest Recommendation. In the late 1940s, Marvel Comics predecessors Timely and Atlas Comics published Venus, a lighthearted romance comic about the goddess of love. Never a company to miss a trend, Atlas introduced science fiction and made her a superhero then eventually made the title a straight-out horror anthology. Today it's one of the most desirable pre-code titles. Here is the swift-changing second half of the 19-issue run. Future Marvel stars Bill Everett (seven issues) and Werner Roth (three issues) take Venus to heights of four-color weirdness and pre-Code horror ghastliness. Fantagraphics, 2024. Due Mar....More. THE SPIRIT Volume 2 Hardcover Collects #5-8, 1946-47. By Lou Fine, Jack Cole et al. Recommended. These stories collected in The Spirit's first comic book series are all from the war years. Eisner had been drafted, so back at home, Lou Fine, Jack Cole and others of the Quality Comics staff were drawing each of the 8-page stories. Writers Manly Wade Wellman and Bill Woolfolk are credited for most of these 1944-45 stories.
