SKY MASTERS OF THE SPACE FORCE The Complete Dailies 1958-61
Our Highest Recommendation. By Jack Kirby and Wally Wood. Jack Kirby's comic strip masterpiece is presented in an archival version featuring the complete dailies. Veteran scripters Dick and Dave Wood provided these late-1950s space/action adventure stories starring Sky Masters and his gang of intrepid followers, which closely resemble Kirby's work on Challengers of the Unknown (which was being published at the same time). Kirby's artwork is stunningly embellished by Wallace Wood and later by Marvel inker extraordinaire Dick Ayers. Hermes, 2017...More.

CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN By Jack Kirby
Showcase #6, 7, 11 and 12 & Challengers #1-8, 1957-59 Our Highest Recommendation. By Jack Kirby and Wally Wood. It just doesn't get much better than this in the Silver Age! Jack Kirby reinvented the superhero genre with his sprawling saga of the Fourth World—a bold storytelling vision that was decades ahead of its time. And with The Fantastic Four he and Stan Lee created the iconic superhero team. But four years earlier, with magnificent inking by Wally Wood, Jack was honing his skills on one of the greatest prototype series of all time. DC, 2017...More.

Over 300 pieces of art from the world's finest fantasy, science fiction, and horror artists in a range of media. Infected by Art hosts an annual art competition juried by artists and art directors. It‘s like Spectrum--but more focusted on dark fantasy and nudes, and with much different material. It's a perfect compliment to Spectrum, with its own edge. Grand Prize winners include Vanessa Lemen, David Palumbo, Matt Smith, Vince Natale and Travis Lewis. This volume's Body of Work award winner is  Allen Williams. This book has it all and will appeal to anyone who appreciates works of imaginative realism. Infected By Art, 2017. Mature Readers...More.

This has actually been out for a little while. We first announced it as a coming item in the fall. Our first shipment came in entirely damaged, so we had to wait until now to get unblemished copies. and announce it as available. It's a very good collection, perhaps the best I've seen yet, and worthy to place alongside your Spectrum annual. We still have 2 softcover copies of Volume 1, and Volumes 3 and 4 are still available. And of course, here you can find the latest Spectrum annual.

FRANKENSTEIN ALIVE, ALIVE! TRIO
Holy Smoke, "New" Wrightson!! Issues #1-3, 2012-14, Our Highest Recommendation. By Steve Niles. Art by Bernie Wrightson. I don't keep on top of all the "current” comic books--I expect the best stuff to get collected in archives, so I wait until then to pay closer attention. So this comes as a total surprise to me, having missed the short series of three issues. Here Bernie left us a wonderful new Frankenstein story, collected here for the first time! And in a bargain-priced format! A grand treat of Victorian horror featuring the further adventures of Mary Shelly's classic monster, as ghoulishly illustrated by Bernie Wrightson, the true master of the macabre! IDW, 2018...More.

ROY THOMAS PRESENTS FRANKENSTEIN Vol 8 Slipcased
Closeout Price! Limited, 300! Collects #28-33, 1954. Recommended. Written and drawn by Dick Briefer, with Mort Meskin and Marvin Stein. While earlier issues were pure humor, here Frankenstein continues, and in fact concludes, its dark, sinister turn into pure horror. I particularly like these stories, as the mute monster relentlessly deals out harsh, final justice to anyone who wishes him ill. He also became a silent judge-and-jury when he finds others persecuted or wronged. Each issue also includes two back-up stories, horror tales typical of the horror comics genre before the code came along. PS Artbooks, 2015. Out of Print....More.
