News & Notes

Spectrum Fantastic Art Quarterly 1

We’re not formally announcing this yet, because the retail price falls below our minimum for coming items. But we want you to know that it’s coming in late December, and we are doing a special signed bookplate to accompany it.

Dan dos Santos is signing it, and we’re numbering them from 300. We’re taking 1/3 of the print run of just 1000 copies. Edited by Arnie and Cathy Fenner, this is designed to “fill the void” of missing a year of the regular Spectrum Annual. It’s a high quality, large format magazine not unlike Glamour International if you remember those.

The first issue will feature revealing new interviews about Frank Frazetta with interviews with Frank’s family, as well as compatriots James Gurney and William Stout, offering a whole new side to the famous artist. Also, a major feature on Don dos Santos; Gregory Manchess on painting covers; memorials for Rich Corben, Stephen Hickman and Rowena and more [SPEQ01. $25].
