New from Comic-Con

Signed bookplate! By Mark Schultz. The first thing you can count on in any collection from Mark Schultz is a kind of subject matter, featuring outré situations involving daring men and women, and, often, fearsome beasts. The second thing you can count on is his allegiance to certain graphic media—generally brush and ink, and graphite and charcoal, but sometimes watercolor too. The third thing you can count on is that, although the subject matter and media stay consistent, his design, draftsmanship and control of his presentation are always evolving and growing, Here, in Carbon 2, his work has become noticeably bolder—more viscerally engaging. Flesk, 2016...More.

The USS Stevens was one of the first books we sold out at Comic-Con. Sergio Aragones came by and bought one, and then sent other artists over until they were gone. It’s a great book, I’m still working my way through it (it’s massive). Glanzman is a sensitive, articulate storyteller who portrays the realities of Navy life during the war—nothing glorified or exaggerated.

Sam also drew The Unauthorized Tarzan, published by Dark Horse in 2013. This collects the 4-issue Charlton comic book series from 1964-65, before it was taken off sale due to copyright violations. It was actually more true to Tarzan than the contemporary Dell Comics. It remains a fan favorite and is dificult to find in the original issues. [UNTH. $29.99, your price $24.99].

Here’s a link to Sam’s bio on Wikipedia.

Two new calendars this week: Mystique Exposed is each year among our bestsellers, for good reason. They really gather some pretty ladies together and the settings are usually exotic and fun. Second is XXPlicit Babes Nude and Naughty. What else can I say after that title? Two more new titles next week. Search for “2017” to get all new calendars on our site.

Two more new books: Alvarado’s All-American Girls is a nice retro-art look at cheesecake with a modern twist. No full nudity, but still too risque for our regular section above. Milo Manara’s The Golden Ass. One of classic Roman literature’s most legendary stories, The Golden Ass of Apuleius is a wild erotic tale about the brash, young Lucius who is accidently transformed into a donkey. But even then he’ll encounter a lusty roman woman and even goddesses who desire him. Very explicit, with beautiful women as only Manara can create.

Lastly we have a restock of Peep Show Pinups, one of the best books ever done on vintage photographic erotica. Artful nudes and even panoramas of nudes from the early 1900s...As before, at a special closeout price.
