Jim let us have just ten copies of this a few weeks ago, and they sold out almost immediately. However, I just made a last trip to Jim's to pick up ALL the balance of the Images back issues. We found one last box of 25 copies. So, here's one final chance to complete your set if you missed this the first time out. Volumes 2-5 are all in stock at the new sale price of $9.95 each.

Images #1-13: See our website, or the latest catalog on page 30, for all the back issues. #6-13, published at $20 to $30 (for #13) are now $9.95 each. Too late to list in that catalog, Jim gave us a small number of Images #1-5, priced at the original cover price of $20 each. We only have 10-15 copies of each of these left as I write this.

Advance Orders and Back Orders
As I mentioned recently, we would like to confirm that we have each and every record of these items ordered by you. So far we've been pleased that eveyone who's called did have the items in our system. But with our server crash, we did find that a small amount of data was lost. We don't want one of those lost backorders or advance orders to be yours.

So please, if you would, take a few moments and send us an email confirming what you understand you have on order with us. This only applies to items ordered BEFORE DECEMBER 22, and it only applies to items that were out of stock or unpublished at the time of the order.

Thanks again for your patience.

Bookfair Report

I am pleased to say that the recent two big bookfairs we did in California, Pasadena and Oakland, went well for us. That's not always the case, as it was in an underwhelming trip to Denver last spring. But these were good ones, we met many customers and many folks walked away with cool books. Most popular among the new books we took: Goblin Market by Omar Rayyan (we sold out of the copies with the original drawing) and Kinuko Craft's picture book Beauty and the Beast, which was featured on the cover of our Holiday 2016 catalog.

Also popular were back issues of Images Magazine (see above) and Everett Raymond Kinstler: The Artist's Journey Through Popular Culture [EVED. signed/limited to 750, $95, now $30].

Amongst our out-of-print antiquarian books, we were pleased to see sales of the more traditional illustrated books. Arthur Rackham, E.J. Detmold, Willy Pogany, Art Young, Alice in Wonderland items were popular. Anne also sold a lot of her children's picture books, particularly in Oakland at the ABAA show. There was a time when illustrated and children's book dealers were all over the fair, so we once had a lot of competition. But as dealers have aged and retired, or stopped doing book fairs, we find we're one of the few sources for moderately priced books in this area.

Reminder: We will be at the Los Angeles Vintage Paperback Show March 19 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium in Los Angles. Speaking of paperback art, we just found out about two related books from England...one is on British paperback artist Heade, it's a killer book. He's my favorite of all the British pin-up pb artists. And there's also a book on Peter Driben from the same publisher. Watch for listings in a few weeks.

And we'll be at the Sacramento Book Fair, the twice-annual event, on March 25th.

~Bud
