TALES FROM THE INNER CITY Recommended. By Shaun Tan. The visionary Shaun Tan returns to show us five years of new and incredibly original stories, rich with feeling and strangely moving, “about the relationships between animals and human beings. By turns moving, shocking, hilarious, and surreal, Tan's stories place frogs in a corporate boardroom, bears in the legal system, horses on the highway, and more. Each tale is accompanied by Tan's luminous paintings, windows on a hidden world of truth and feeling beneath the surface of our everyday lives.” Arthur A. Levine, 2018...More. R. CRUMB SKETCHBOOK Volume 4 1982-1989 440 amazing pages! Recommended. By Robert Crumb. Crumb declares in one drawing, above a lovingly rendered tree, "As I get older I get more twisted, convoluted, depraved, cynical, embittered, self-centered, jaded, debauched, ruthless, greedy, conceited, set-in-my-ways, long-winded, absent-minded, prejudiced, closed-minded, misanthropic, nervous..." To prove this self-flagellating analysis he fills the pages with his signature perversions (in country settings), scathing social commentary, cruel self-portraits, experimental cubism... and some lovely sylvan landscape.Taschen, 2018. GOLDEN AGE OF CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATION 2019 Calendar Highly Recommended. By Kay Nielsen, Arthur Rackham, Charles Robinson, Edmund Dulac et al. PIN-UPS 2019 Calendar Highly Recommended. Rare photographic images of naughty--and completely nude--but nice glamorous ladies date from the 1940s & 1950s. While some calendars offered art by Vargas and Elvgren, these were the images of real ladies--with the same wonderful curves and period outfits (or not) and hair. There is something about these well-endowed, stunning ladies that we just don't see in today's nudes. Their "provocative" poses seem strangely innocent to the modern viewer. Very well done, with all fresh photos we've not seen before. Catch, 2018. Mature Readers...More. Item Code: PINU19 12x12, 24pg, Full Color $14.95 |

The Shadow and The Spider We will no longer be stocking The Shadow double-novel reprints from #100-113. Order now if you want any, we still have a few copies of most of these. We will continue to stock #114 on. Sanctum has also stopped issuing new Spider collections, so we are dropping The Spider #1-10. Again, we still have a few of each as I write this. Publisher Altus now has the license for The Spider, and we are just now ordering Will Murray's brand new Spider novel. Watch for it in a week or two. |
Canton Street Replica Editions These folks also have stopped producing new titles in this series. We will not be restocking these titles, but you can still order them now while we have stock remaining: Moon Girl #2-5, Matt Baker's Teenage Romances and Pictorial Confessions, Black Cat Mystery, Dark Mysteries, Is this Tomorrow? (three left) and Chamber of Chills. These are all $14.99 each. We have very limited numbers of each. |
Canton also does the sale-priced Canteen Kate [$28.99, your price $14.99] and Complete Golden Age Airboy and Valkyrie [COGAIH. $24.99, your price $14.99, which we'll keep handling as long as they are available. Their Original Ghost Rider is sold out.

This unexpectedly went out of print just after it was shipped. But we do still have copies, we just can't get more. We've always counted on reordering these over time, so be aware that could be changing. As these (The Eerie, Creepy and possibly the Vampirella Archives) approach the end of their runs, the publisher may be cutting back on overprinting. So these may not stay available like the earlier volumes. I'd recommend ordering them in advance to prevent missing one.
