Limited, 5,000. Recommended. Travel back in time to witness the creation of the world's favorite web-slinger as dreamed up by comic book legends Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, who redefined what it meant to be a hero. In this Hulk-sized, collector's dream, the first 21 Spider-Man stories from 1962-1964 have been meticulously photographed from the most pristine copies of these rare comic books — a fine art celebration of the teen super hero in this inaugural volume of Taschen's Marvel Comics Library series and reproduced in XXL size. Note: Taschen is using the cardboard box/mailing container as that, not as part of the final package. We will include this container as we pack these inside an additional box, but be aware they are NOT "as new," they may have wear from shipment to us. Taschen, 2021. Lovecraft Has Never Been Better Illustrated

Oversized hardcover, first published in France. Second volume of two. Our Highest Recommendation. By H.P. Lovecraft. Art by François Baranger. Return to the final days of the Dyer expedition in the remote Antarctic wastes. The letters from expedition leader Professor William Dyer grow increasingly more desperate as the expedition presses on, leaving sanity behind them. What they discover beneath the ice is meant for no living man to see, Cyclopean structures and alien landscapes that defy description. The final act of the Dyer Expedition is a descent into cosmic horror and utter madness. A perfect blend of text and huge, often full page paintings. Design Studio Press, 2021....More.

Newly Translated French Graphic Novels

New from France. Highly Recommended. By Gérard Moncomble. Art by Frédéric Pillot. Newly translated, a fable about freedom, about resistance, about power on the high seas. And gorgeous artwork, amazing detail and wildly imaginative. In the Sarboucane sea, Balbuzar the pirate reigns supreme. He attacks, plunders, sinks, and ransoms everything that comes within his reach. Savage, cruel, formidable, but also with a certain bonhomie, and a great sense of justice. He is in harmony with the sea, the islands, the wind, the rocks. Around him, birds, always. Men, women, children…they all love him. For he is free as the air. But now the Empress Pépita XIII is worried about Balbuzar’s constant plundering. She sends against him her best officer, the Commodore, at the head of an armada. Ablaze, 2021....More.

First published in France in 2019. Recommended. Months after a bioweapon attack devastated New York City and provoked a global pandemic, the Division agents are still fighting to bring order, stability, and justice to communities shattered by this catastrophic event. When various factions, vying for power in the wake of the crisis, seek to claim the future of Washington, DC, for themselves, the Division is called to take on these new threats and protect the capital of the United States. The paths of four survivors, once childhood friends, deviate as they find themselves entangled in the vicious civil unrest and we get flashbacks to kinder, gentler times when the four friends were just normal 12-year-olds in a far more sane world. Cyclops, the Beast, Iceman, the Angel, Marvel Girl — and their leader, the mysteriously-named Professor X! Spectrum Fantastic Art Quarterly - bookplate update

I can hardly believe it, but we blasted through 300 copies of this. That was the limitation of our bookplate, which I imagined would be plenty for a while. Nope…they lasted just a month. Copies from now forward will not have the bookplate, sorry. Our latest catalog still has the old description including the bookplate. This first issue is limited to 1000 copies.

The editors are already hard at work on Volume 2. It with include a feature article on Jeffrey Jones. Like #1's Frazetta feature, it'll be a little different with new details.
