ADVENTURES INTO THE UNKNOWN COLLECTED WORKS 12 HC
Collects #65-71, 1955-56. Highly Recommended. By Ogden Whitney, Harry Lazarus, Kurt Schaffenberger, John Rosenberger The Comics Code in general tamped down creativity and variety in comics. Stan Lee's Atlas line was a good example of this, at least until Kirby and Ditko came back on board. But for editor and writer Richard Hughes, this brought out his absolute best. Stories explored totally new avenues, with more time travel, sci-fi and excellent charactization and complex plots, He even takes 10 or 12 pages to develop a good story, rather than the industry standard of just 6 or 8. This is outstanding comics writing and one of the series I most enjoy reading now, 50 years later. PS Artbooks, 2017...More.

Hot on the heels of the breakout hit Master of Kung Fu, Marvel launched the amazing, oversized The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu magazine. WONDER WOMAN The Art Of War Statue By José Luis García-López
Limited & numbered, 5,200! Recommended. Designed by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez. Sculpted by Jack Mathews. Master artist José Luis García-López brings his fierce vision of Wonder Woman to life in the latest Art of War statue. It's one of the most dynamic poses we've seen in the Wonder Woman statues. She's looking both voluptuous and in peak condition, ready to do battle with sword and shield. We suspect the total number produced may be less than 5200, since these, like many statues we see, are numbered under 1000. Handsome illustrated box. Special WW logo base that matches the other statues in this series. DC, 2017...More.

More than forty years after debuting in All Star Comics #8, Wonder Woman was reshaped by the legendary George Pérez and returned to the public eye in 1986. In collaboration with co-writer Len Wein and inker Bruce Patterson, Pérez spearheaded Wonder Woman’s adventures for years, leading her to an unprecedented level of success. DC, 2016...More.

DICK TRACY Colorful Cases of The 1930s
Recommended. By Chester Gould. In the early 1930s, Chester Gould dramatically altered the comics landscape with a new style of gritty realism torn from Chicago’s headlines. This selection of Dick Tracy Sunday comics from 1931 to 1939 features Gould’s most infamous villains of the decade; four complete stories plus forty more fabulous Sunday pages, reprinted for the first time in the original colors, and in full tabloid size. News and Notes

Rare & Out of Print

We’re continuing to add new items every week, and you can see them all here. As soon as an item sells out, we take it off the website...however, with many items we may have more than one copy available. Case in point, we currently have three first 1966 editions of Little Annie Fanny ($100-$125), two Roy Krenkel’s Swordsmen and Saurians ($95-$125), four of his Cities and Scenes of the Ancient World ($35-$125), three Art of Jack Kirby ($100 to $750, for the signed/limited), three Wings of Twilight by Michael Kaluta ($35, $45, and $75 for the deluxe/limited), two of Matania’s Great Stories from History ($75) and two of Sorayama’s Gynoids ($100 and $125).

Also newly posted is a set of the Ballantine Fantastic Art of Frank Frazetta ($40-50, it looks like Volume 5 already sold). Roald Dahl’s 1943 first edition of Gremlins ($350). Vaughn Bode’s Lizard of Oz ($100). Druillet’s first 1966 edition of Lone Sloane ($150).

BIG NEWS! My former partner and friend of 50+ years, Jim Vadeboncoeur, Jr. has been selling off his collection of vintage books, magazines and comics for the past several months. I previously told you that we’d taken over his back stock of Images Magazine and Everett Raymond Kinstler books. He’s been busily posting his choicest items on EBay for the last few months, everything from as-new Frazetta and Jones paperbacks, on the low end, to vintage illustrated books, signed and limited edition art books and graphic novels, etc. But time has run out and he didn’t finish up—in fact, he has a lot of material left, all hand-picked before he moved the lesser material to dealers. He’s moving back to Paris. So he and I have worked out a deal. We will take all the rest of his books.

First, we will list each one, or each grouping, on our Rare and Out of Print section. So our regular customers, like you, have first chance to score these. if you click on the section on our home page, and then click on “newest” you will always see the latest items to be posted. I hope that we can start putting up items by the 3rd or 4th week in June.

Meanwhile, coming up shortly we have bunch of Complete EC Libraries, nearly all the Complete Little Lulu Libraries, vintage Little Lulu books from the 1940s, in jacket, original PS magazines by Eisner, two League of Extraordinary Gentlemen slipcased sets, and more.

~Bud
