TWIN EARTHS Volume 4 & 5 Set
Warehouse find, 1992-93. Highly Recommended. By Oskar Lebeck. Art by Al McWilliams. Twin Earths is an American science fiction comic strip that ran in Sunday and daily newspapers from 1952 until 1963. The story told of another Earth, in the same orbit as our planet but on the opposite side of the sun, whose scientifically advanced civilization is 92% women. Beautiful women! This is packed with flying saucers and McWilliams was a master at drawing them, along with all kinds of future-world techology. And beautiful ladies. A fan favorite strip, which was handsomely collected in a long series of thick softcovers, of which these are a part. Susor, 1992-93...More.

Frank Godwin's Connie, produced in the 1930s for the Ledger Syndicate, was groundbreaking in many ways. Its heroine was a woman of action who roamed the Earth and even explored space. Godwin's magnificent art drew from the pulp magazine sci-fi design of the day, creating futuristic machinery and fantastic creatures with equal ease. Published in 2010, we were pleased to find these still available and now at an exclusive sale price. All in 3-D. Lars is an interplanetary agent sent to Earth to battle injustice--disguised as a television actor portraying an imaginary super-hero—“Lars of Mars!” Eclipse, 1987. . Mature Readers

Tijuana Bibles, otherwise known as the notorious “eight-pagers” have always held a fascination for comics fans. Being totally underground and published in the 1930s, they crossed every line of good taste, targeting living people from politicians to movie starlets, making fun of widely popular comic strips. The best book ever done on these dates back to 1997, and we've just found a source for copies of that first edition, in both hardcover and softcover, at $15 and $24.

Ralph Gibson Nude is a new bargain priced ($50, your price $45) collection that reprints the original $1000 edition, both published by Taschen. Old-school nudes in both color and black and white, close-up and person, and artistic.

A Touch of Sex is a new DVD, directed by George O'Conner. This music-filled ‘70s erotic oddity features genre film actor Michael Pataki (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Dead And Buried, Graduation Day) and classic adult film starlet, Rene Bond.

The latest Cavewoman issue, Lycan Run, features not one, not two, but three different special edition Nude Covers by Budd Root. I have not been a big fan of the interior art on recent issues, so finding this is from a new writer and new artist, even while it's not Fine Art, I do find a change for the better.

And...we've just made up four sets of older issues by Budd, but we have just one of each set:

New Weekly Email Time: Thursday

In case you haven’t noticed, we started sending our weekly email on Thursday in the late afternoon or early evening. Essentially, as soon as we finish putting it together. We think it works better for you than the first-thing-Friday morning schedule...you have a chance to take a look on Thursday evening and get your orders in earlier.

Our cut-off for same day shipping on Friday (and every weekday) is around 12 noon, Pacific Standard Time. Thus any order placed Thursday or early Friday will be shipped out on Friday, before the weekend. Otherwise it must wait to go until the next mail pick up on Monday.
