THE BIG TEASE A Naughty and Nice Collection
New Printing! Highly Recommended. By Bruce Timm. Bruce Timm has been creating elegant drawings of women for over 30 years, and nearly all of these charming nudes were drawn purely for fun after-hours. This book collects all three Teaser collections from 2011 to 2013, long sold out. Plus Surrender, My Sweet from 2015. In addition, Timm has created new material especially for this collection and delved into his personal archives to share pieces not shown before, culminating in more than 75 additional pages of material. Abundant nudity. Oversized. Flesk, 2020. Mature Readers....More.

Art Books from Angoulême, France

Mice Cover: CALUNH

Highly Recommended. Limited, 1500. This is the catalogue to the museum exhibition ("Calvo: a master of the fable") mounted for the Angoulême Comics Festival in January 2020. Working in animation style that looks like classic Disney work from the 1940s (Calvo's heyday), Calvo changed the face of comics with his albums featuring animal heroes and powerful anti-Nazi stories, using animals for all the players. Discover his superb artwork with 150 pages of original artwork and previously unpublished documents. 9eArt Editions, 2020. ...More.

Hard Cover, 10x14, 208pg, Partial Color

Wolf Cover: CALUNHW

You have your choice of two different covers (the alternate one is on the back cover, smaller size). The Wolf cover and the Mice cover.

Highly Recommended. Limited, 1500. In 1946, at the height of his talent, Calvo wrote and drew this magnificent primer for children, with bright colors and incredible animation-style artwork. Joyful circus animals overflowing with vitality perform their numbers illustrating each letter of the alphabet (in French). This is as amazing as any Disney animation from the Golden Age...and has never been reproduced better. Nearly all the illustrations are from the original drawings. 9eArt Editions....More.

Item Code: MRLOYH
Hard Cover, 9x12, 32pg, Partial Color

Limited, 1200. This is the catalogue to the museum exhibition ("Yoshiharu Tsuge: to be without existing") mounted for the Angoulême Comics Festival in January 2020. Tsuge is a Japanese cartoonist and essayist, active in comics between 1955 and 1987. His works range from tales of ordinary life to dream-like surrealism, and often show his interest in traveling about Japan. This handsome catalog pays tribute to the man considered the father of autobiographic comics or "watakushi manga." 9eArt Editions, 2020. ...More.

Item Code: YOSTH
Hard Cover, 10x13, 160pg, Partial Color

Recommended. By Jacques Martin. Contributors include Gaëtan Akyüz, Stéphane Beaujean et al. Jacques Martin (1921 – 2010) was a French comics artist and comic book creator. He was one of the classic artists of Tintin magazine,  where he was a longtime collaborator with Hergé. He is best known for his series Alix, a kind of a French-language Prince Valiant. It stars an adolescent boy who grows up fast fighting and surviving one adventure after another in ancient, pre-gunpowder Europe and Egypt, in the times of Ben Hur and chariot races, swords and gladiators. This volume is a catalog of his work, based on an exhibit at the Angoulême comics festival in France.9eArt Editions, 2018....More.

Item Code: ALIXH
Hard Cover, 10x13, 160pg, Partial Color

Highly Recommended. Limited, 1500. In 2019 the Angoulême comics festival in France celebrated Milo Manara's fifty-year career with a major exhibit of his original art. From his beginnings in Italian pulp comics to his biography of Caravaggio, to his notable collaborations with Hugo Pratt and Federico Fellini, this traces the unique career of a master of erotic art—with many examples of his very adult work. More than 150 exceptional pieces, including unpublished drawings, in b&w, partial color and full color, superbly reproduced. Oversized art book. Text is in French. 9eArt Editions, 1999. ...More.

Item Code: MANITH

Recommended. By Shimizu Daisuke. This very special collection offers us fantasy worlds that come to life in amazingly realistic illustrations. A huge tree in an enchanted forest, a witch's magic shop, the remains of an ancient city, a deserted laboratory, a giant library, mysterious alleys, luminescent Asian streets, Tibetan ruins with figures carved into columns. It's impossible to tell the difference between reality and fantasy here, but the amount of detail is simply amazing. Each picture can be examined again and again for more rewards. Over 100 images, many double page. Brief text entirely in Japanese. Dust jacketed softcover. PIE, 2020....More.

History of EC Comics

All backorders were in the mail as of Wednesday, October 14. Whew! We are out of copies but a reorder is on the way as I write this.

Note: each EC History is packed into a giant cardboard box with printed black and white art outside. It's meant to protect the book. We've heard that some sellers are slapping a label on it and using it as the shipping box. In some ways, that is what it's designed for. But as collectors, many of us (myself included) consider it part of the product, awkward as it is to store and save! But no one would be remiss to toss it as just packaging.

Download Catalog

That said, these boxes do not always come to us in perfect condition. We weed out any with a serious issue, but we can't reject them for a minor bump when the book inside is still perfect. That's just the box doing its job, protecting the book. We are wrapping each box AND book inside in more cardboard, then nesting that in bubble wrap, and packing into an even larger custom box. So it'll reach you in the same condition we got it in. Most of the boxes are perfectly fine, but please understand a minor imperfection on a few just can't be avoided.

Our Catalog and Contact Info

We publish a color catalog every two months—if you’ve placed an order in the last 12 months, you will receive it hot off the press.
