Back in Stock - Artist’s Editions from 2015-2016

Back in stock. Highly Recommended. By Archie Goodwin.Until seeing this original artwork, I didn't realize how finely detailed this is, very much in his EC style! This is legendary among fans. His heroic adventure style was perfectly suited for Star Wars — Williamson was George Lucas' first choice for the Star Wars newspaper comic strip, which he would later go on to draw! This incredible edition collects all Empire Strikes Back work along with selected pages from Return of the Jedi and more. All from the original artwork, all full size, all reproduced using color photography (even though it's mostly black and white), to show all the blue lines, pencil notes, corrections, etc. It is gorgeous! News & Notes

Frazetta News

The Fantastic Art of Frazetta Deluxe Edition [FANWFD. $650] is still due mid March, which means any day now. All copies except four are spoken for as I write this.

Our reorder of the “Regular” Fantastic Art edition, numbered from 6000, missed the first boat from England but we expect to see our copies by mid-April. This is officially out of print. I see the cheapest copy is now $290 on Amazon. Our copies are still cover price, $200 [FANWFH.]. You can still reserve a copy now, until our supply is gone.

Download Catalog

The Sensuous Frazetta Deluxe [SENFD. $69.95] is nearly gone; we just today received the last eight copies we can sell at cover price. The softcover and hardcover editions are now sold out.

Meanwhile, we still have a lot of Frazetta in stock including Underwood Publisher File copies of these Deluxe Limited Editions: Telling Stories, Icon and Testament, and regular editions of Legacy and Icon. We also have, in Rare Books, original 1970s Ballantine editions (Frank Frazetta Books 1-5), Johnny Comet, White Indian, Frazetta Funny Stuff and more.

The regular edition of Telling Stories (slipcase, hardcover, featuring the complete Thunda, his best romance comics work, complete stories from White Indian, Ghost Rider, etc) remains one of our bestselling sale items, in case you haven’t scored one yet [TELSH. $50, $29.95].

Infected by Art Volume #10

We just got word the lastest volume, which is the cover feature for our new catalog, has become unavailable…almost. Two entire print runs of the trade editions, shipped from China to the publisher, were all damaged in transit. We are currently refunding the handful of backorders we have, given no choice.

However, we still have the variant covers in stock, albeit in very limited supply: One is signed by Sanjulian [INA10HSS]. The other is signed by Mark Poole [INA10HPS. $60].

Flesk News

Carbon 5 by Mark Schultz will be available in early April. We will have both editions, the hardcover signed which is limited to 800 copies, and the unsigned softcover $25. Watch for their listing, we are not yet taking orders. We will only have a limited number of the hardcover, so order right away if you want one. We’ll have less copies than of #4, which sold out.

Also coming in are hurt copies of Spectrum Volume 25 and 26, the last two volumes published by Flesk. These both went out of print pretty quickly, so we are pleased to offer them again, albeit with some dings and scratches because they have been circulated. They’ll be half price, and we’ll have both hardcover and softcover editions. Again, watch for them in a week or two.

Upcoming Shows

We will be exhibiting at the Sacramento Book Fair next week, March 25th, with our usual mix of discounted hurt books, a few new titles, and older children’s and illustrated books. Hope to see you there, we’re back in our old spot. Ken Sanders is back and has reclaimed his lobby location.
