THE ART OF PULP FICTION An Illustrated History of Vintage Paperbacks
Our Highest Recommendation. Edited by Ed Hulse, with Will Murray, Gary Lovisi and David Saunders. Wow, this looks even better than I could have imagined. Finally, THE book on vintage paperback art — a visual feast of great artwork! -Bud. From 1940 to 1970, paperbacks eclipsed pulp magazines and hardbound books as the most popular delivery vehicle for escapist fiction. And it was all about the cover art. To catch the eyes of potential buyers they were adorned with covers that were invariably vibrant, frequently garish, and often lurid.IDW, 2021. ...More.

THE RISE AND FALL OF THE TRIGAN EMPIRE Volume 3
15 stories from 1970-73. Highly Recommended. By Mike Butterworth. More exciting and superbly painted stories from the lost sci-fi classic. This is an epic story of how Trigo, pilot and warrior, often alone, had to fend off usurpers and monstrous threats to save his people in an alien society of robots, interplanetary travel, warring factions and evil scientists. The lush painted work by Don Lawrence would solidify him as one of the greatest comic book artists of all time — and that is no hyperbole. This is incredible work, every single page. WOMEN PICTURING WOMEN From Personal Spaces to Public Ventures
Based on a 2021 exhibit and selected from the rich holdings of the Loeb Art Center at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, this explores the common themes and complex visions that emerge when women depict other women in both photography and art. Artists grapple with narratives found in religion, mythology or social critique, focusing on motifs of both intimacy and isolation in varying degrees. With works that range from the 17th century to the close of the 1960s, this provides a varied set of examples that speak to the unique and frequently under-emphasized artistic lens through which women view women, with further scholarship on each artist and her work. Artists include: Angelica Kauffman, Berthe Morisot, Jesse Tarbox Beals, Lilly Martin Spencer, Alice Neel, Diane Arbus and Sylvia Sleigh. Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, Vassar College, 2021....More.

Linsner Overstreet Price Guide

This generous note came in from Hero's Initiative, who produced the special 500-copy edition of the Price Guide with a special cover of Dawn by Joseph Linsner: “NO ONE is selling more copies of Hero's exclusive Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #51 this year than world-famous @budsartbooks.” We just ordered half of the remaining copies, so this should be out of print any minute. We have plenty as I write this…it's still my favorite Price Guide cover this year.

Here's more by Linsner and here are the other Price Guide Editions. The Big Big Edition is gone.
