Signed by Bob Eggleton & the four contributors! Limited to just 200 copies. Our Highest Recommendation. By Philip Jose Farmer. Cover by Bob Eggleton. Hardcover, wrap-around dust jacket, leatherette binding with gold foil stamping, custom printed color end papers. A high quality collectible in the tradition of Meteor House’s prior limited edition hardcovers. I don't want to give this away—but fans of the Edgar Rice Burroughs universe—like me—should REALLY enjoy this. Not only is it an outstanding time travel story, but Farmer has pulled a real number here. As you may know, he's a big ERB fan—in A Feast Unknown he did something similar with favorite fictional characters. This is even better. -Bud. Three men and a woman travel on board a timeship from the future of 2070 AD back to to 12,000 BC! For these anthropologists, it's a chance to study primitive man, the wild creatures and the very different world they inhabit. But none of them was prepared for what they would encounter, or for the impact of their travels in time that had yet to come... And one of the travelers is a thinly veiled very famous fictional character! A prequel to Philip Jose Farmer’s Ancient Opar series and a big fan favorite, first published in 1972 in paperback. I really, really enjoyed this. No spoilers but just let it be said it's deeply in the ERB universe and I can’t see any ERB  fan who would not really enjoy this. It's also a Time Travel novel. - Bud

New from Illustration Press

Illustration Press has just released two new art books on classic illustrators Harry Beckoff (1901-79) and Joe Bowler (1928-2016). They’ll be $45 each and limited to 1000 copies as usual. We’re not taking orders for either book yet, but we’ll have both available for immediate shipment as soon as they come in the door.

Bowler was elected to the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame on 1992. He is best know for being part of the Charles Cooper Studio. His style is close to that of the fine Coby Whitmore, whose name many of you will recognize—he’s known for elegant men and women. He was a regular contributor to Cosmopolitan and Ladies Home Journal, two of the premier prestige magazines in "The Second Golden Age" after World War II. He was named Artist’s Guild Artist of the Year in 1967.

Beckoff is better known, he did wonderful magazine covers for Colliers in particular, plus illustrations for stories, from the 1920s to the 1950s. He studied with Dean Cornwell and Harvey Dunn, but his style was very different, working more with line and flat colors. He started out emulating Russell Patterson but moved into his own very individual style. He did wonderful work that I’ve always enjoyed.

FLASH GORDON CLASSIC COLLECTION The Complete Sunday Strips Volume 3 1941-1944 Hurt
Our Highest Recommendation. By Alex Raymond. Flash Gordon is right up there in the Hall of Fame category with Hal Foster's Prince Valiant. And in fact, they were being created at nearly the same time, making the Sunday Page section of newspapers across the country a must-read for youngsters, oldsters, and all the comic artists of the day, who were deeply influenced by Raymond's magnificent artwork and dramatic storytelling. This new series collects newly restored pages. The battle between Flash and the devious Ming the Merciless reaches its climax. Includes an extensive essay examining Raymond's final years on the series by writer Doug Murray. Mad Cave Studios, 2025. Condition: Bumped corners. ...More.

THUN'DA KING OF THE CONGO Volume 1 Hardcover Hurt
Collects #2-6, 1952-53. Highly Recommended. By Bob Powell. First appearing in comics in 1952 and on film in Columbia Pictures serial "King of the Congo" starring Buster Crabbe, Thun'da was a fictional Tarzan-esque character scripted by Gardner Fox and originally created by artist Frank Frazetta! Thun'da was Roger Drum, a World War II United States Air Force officer who was shot down while flying over a lost civilization, deep in the heart of Africa. Bob Powell took over and did a superb job on #2 through #6, collected here — but Powell's fine work has always been in the shadow of Frazetta's work in issue #1. Powell's at his best here, with Thun'da and his voluptuous girl friend...it's as exciting as the work he did on Cave Girl, which is another under-appreciated title from the same publisher, Magazine Enterprises (ME). PS Artbooks, 2024. Condition: Bumped corners. ...More.

FINE PRINT Volume 2 Hurt
Recommended. By Stjepan Sejic. "...gloriously erotic and painterly...quick and clever; the line work, staging, and color are perfect." - Library Journal. A tale of gods, mortals, love, lust, death, and bad decisions — that all starts with a simple bite of a golden apple. When Lauren signs the divine contract promising bliss for the price of love, she expects to be granted the services of the highest ranking god of desire. To everyone's surprise this is a contested title and what was supposed to be a simple routine transaction becomes a mess!
