First appearing in comics in 1952 and on film in Columbia Pictures serial "King of the Congo" starring Buster Crabbe, Thun'da was a fictional Tarzan-esque character scripted by Gardner Fox and originally created by artist Frank Frazetta! Thun'da was Roger Drum, a World War II United States Air Force officer who was shot down while flying over a lost civilization, deep in the heart of Africa. Bob Powell took over and did a superb job on #2 through #6, collected here — but Powell's fine work has always been in the shadow of Frazetta's work in issue #1. Powell's at his best here, with Thun'da and his voluptuous girl friend...it's as exciting as the work he did on Cave Girl, which is another under-appreciated title from the same publisher, Magazine Enterprises (ME).
