CTHULHU The Ancient One Tribute Box
Recommended. By Steve Mockus. The signature character of author H. P. Lovecraft's darkly fantastic fiction, Cthulhu is as emblematic for Lovecraft's fans as Darth Vader is for Star Wars adherents. Both feared and worshipped in the stories, Cthulhu has since been the subject of new fiction, artwork, role-playing games, toys, and other items celebrating Lovecraft and fandom for weird tales. This set includes a hand-painted figurine, an altarpiece stand, and a 48-page booklet (that slips into the stand!) discussing the Ancient One's place in Lovecraft's works and in popular culture. Chronicle Books, 2016. ...More.

The classic tale of Nemo and the fearsome Nautilus submarine is retold in a wonderful new graphic novel, capturing the vintage feel of the original story, written in the 1860s. ROY THOMAS PRESENTS FRANKENSTEIN Volume 3 Slipcased
Closeout Price! Limited, 300! Collects #1-5, 1945-46. Recommended. By Dick Briefer. Writer/artist Dick Briefer's Frankenstein for Prize Comics is widely regarded as being America's first ongoing horror series. Indeed, it was Briefer's work that probably caused the creature to be actually identified as Frankenstein instead of the nameless monstrosity from Mary Shelley's novel. Splitting the stories between two schools—humor and horror—Briefer's tales are absorbing and unsettling in equal parts. Some of the humorous material has already been reprinted, though not necessarily in order nor in total. Until now! PS Artbooks, 2013. ...More.

Item Code: FRA03D

ROY THOMAS PRESENTS FRANKENSTEIN Volume 4
Closeout Price! Collects #6-10, 1947. Recommended. Written and drawn by Dick Briefer. Dick Briefer's Frankenstein character, created for Prize Comics, was comic's first ongoing horror series. But unlike every other adaptation, Briefer made the "monster" the star of a comedy strip, with friends who are witches, mummies and strange beings...it's a spoof on horror stories. In later issues Frankenstein became a true monster, meting out violent justice with nary a second thought. But in these early stories, it's all good clean fun as the monster tries to cope with a crazy, surreal world that he doesn't quite understand. PS Artbooks, 2014. ...More.

Item Code: FRA04H

Also on sale: Roy Thomas Presents Frankenstein Volumes 5 (issues #11-15) , 6 (#16-21), 7 (#22-27), and 8 (#28-33). The stories change from humor to straight horror with issue #18. [FRA05H, FRA06H, etc. $48, your price $19.95 each].

We still have SLIPCASED editions of these volumes 5-8 also. But Volume 5 is down to just five copies left. [FRA05D, FRA06D, etc. $64.99, your price $21.99 each].

Possibilities: The Photographs of John Willie is THE book on the artist and photographer John Willie, publisher of the long running fetish magazine Bizarre, creator of Sweet Gwendoline and also Bizarre Comix. This is all about his photography, over 1000 fetish pictures featuring bondage, s&m, kinky outfits and more.

Slip Naked in Your Own Words is a very unusual and very appealing collection of nude photography. I have to say it reminds me very much of Boris Vallejo’s photograpy collection Bodies. Poses are dynamic, with action and tension; lighting is amazing, mostly moody and dark; women are muscular, fit, and extremely sexy.

Complete Bizarre is a warehouse find that ties in nicely with the new John Willie book above. It’s a complete reprint, in two volumes, of his magazine Bizarre. These are banged-up sets that were put aside by us many years ago, but they are much in demand now in any condition. So we have just 11 available, the best condition will go out first.

Finally, we have five SQP titles which are now on sale at half price. These made it into our latest catalog, which may be in your hands shortly, but we hadn’t announced them here, Here’s the list…more next week, or look in Pin-Up and Erotic Art for all titles.
