ART YOUNG'S INFERNO Original Art Edition
Recommended. Introduction by Steven Heller. Foreword by Glenn Bray. The preeminent American political cartoonist's classic reinterpretation of Dante's Inferno as a satirical indictment of capitalism -- as it has never been seen before. Capitalist oligarchs and their minions have been condemned to Hell, but they lead a hostile takeover, throw out Satan, and privatize the Inferno. Operated by a corporate monopoly who maximizes profits and misery, Hell has become the perfect capitalist paradise. This edition also includes the original 1934 essays by Young, a foreword by acclaimed graphic designer Steven Heller, and an introduction by art collector and documentarian Glenn Bray. Our Highest Recommendation. By Denis Kitchen and Violet Kitchen. Famed artist and publisher Denis Kitchen and his daughter Violet Kitchen have created the first-ever comprehensive examination of this great artist, while collecting an amazing array of 300 generally scarce images. Harrison Cady (1877–1970) was one of the definitive magazine illustrators and cartoon artists of the first half of the 20th century. He created countless overflowing worlds of anthropomorphic lives: the Peter Rabbit Sunday page, the Happy Chaps for the magazine St. Nicholas, and illustrations that brought to life dozens of the Thornton Burgess books, filled with talking woodland animals and beloved by readers. MAC RABOY Master of the Comics
The first-ever book on this hugely talented artist. Our Highest Recommendation. By Roger Hill. Introduction by Roy Thomas. Beginning with his WPA etchings during the 1930s, Mac Raboy struggled to survive the Great Depression and eventually found his way into the comics. He perfected his art style on early stories of Dr. Voodoo, Zorro The Mystery Man, Bulletman, Spy Smasher, (all for Fawcett), The Green Lama and, finally, his crowning achievement, Captain Marvel Jr. Raboy went on to illustrate the Flash Gordon Sunday newspaper strip, and left behind a legacy of meticulous perfection. Through extensive research and interviews with son David Raboy, and with several of Mac Raboy's Golden Age assistants, author Roger Hill brings Mac Raboy, the man and the artist, into focus. Baby Tattoo

AUTUMN'S COME UNDONE
Closeout Price! By Shag. Something's come undone. The intimate moments that have made Shag famous have been replaced by epic tableaus. Richly hued designer environments have given way to subtly de-saturated expanses. Characters who were once grounded in mid-century formality are teetering on the brink of chaos. This collection of new work showcases the largest, darkest and most thought provoking images Shag has ever created. The art is distinctly Shag, but it's painted in shades of black humor, reminding us of demented Disneyland rides, with cavorting nude ladies, unearthly creatures. Baby Tattoo, 2009...More.

This beautiful hard cover edition of Milne's work features stunning images of her most recent paintings and also includes a foreword by fellow artist Camille Rose Garcia. Freak Brothers on Television

An animated series based on the characters, set in modern San Francisco, is being developed for release in 2020. It features our four cannabis-loving, time-traveling "Freaks" from the late 1960s – Freewheelin' Franklin, Phineas, Fat Freddy and Fat Freddy's Cat.

Known as The Freak Brothers, the show features Woody Harrelson, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Davidson, and John Goodman as voice actors for the 3 Freaks & Fat Freddy's cat. They wake up after 50 years of "marijuana induced coma" in today's world. The first season will consist of eight 22-minute episodes and will debut in 2020. A mini-episode was released May 6, 2020, titled "Kentucky Fried Freaks".

You can catch up on their original and newest adventures—we have three books currently in stock:
The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Omnibus – 624 pages, sixties through the eighties, two color sections [FABF. $35]
The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Compendium – a best-of with four full color stories [FABFC. $13.99]
Fifty Freakin' Years of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers – three NEW strips, interview with Shelton, parody strips by Crumb, Hunt Emerson et al [FIFTF. $12.95]
