Hermes Publishing Delays This publisher has long suffered from production delays…sometimes a year or more. For instance, Gladys Parker was due to ship in Fall 2019, and now is still hung up with no firm due date, 18 months later. In earlier days, our system allowed us to take your order and only bill you once an item shipped. Since our new software necessitates payment with your order on coming items, we no longer feel right collecting your money when it's nearly a sure thing items will be delayed. So our new policy with Hermes Publishing is we will not announce any of their books until they are in stock here. Rest assured, we will continue to handle all of them, including the popular Phantom series. And as I said previously, getting reorders has gotten exponentially harder, so we will slowly be forced to drop older titles, whether they are out of print or just caught in unreliable fulfillment systems of our supplier. We're cancelling and refunding orders for Peter Wheat Volume 2, Johnny Hazard Volume 9, and The Art of Popeye, all indefinitely delayed. |

With Frank just passed away, I thought we ought to bring in a few, and they will be here in just a couple weeks. Overseas Shipments As you may have been reading, everything coming into the country is experiencing delays. And most books are now printed overseas. The new Flesk Books are in the port, to be unloaded, and we expect to have them ready to ship by April 10-15th. That's Al Williamson, Xenozoic Tales and Carbon 4. This has also affected other shipments, for instance reorders from Book Palace on Illustrators Quarterly, Fortunino Mantania, etc. I hope this isn't having a similar effect on our shipments overseas to our foreign customers, but so far, we're not hearing complaints. Now just today (Wednesday) they've reported a container ship blocking the Suez Canal, wedged in sideways. Hey, teaches you to roll with the punches. At least you're not on board on of those hundreds of ships now idling on both sides of the canal!! |

Speaking of late material, we've been waiting months for not only issue reorders, but for a new issue. I can't figure out what's going on with these folks and there's nothing online. But just last week we were told our reorders were being shipped out, so cross your fingers. And an interview I just read online, posted March 10, indicated a new issue was imminent...so we'll see. |
