JOSEPH CLEMENT COLL A Legacy In Line Deluxe, Signed & Limited
Deluxe A/P Edition. Signed By John Fleskes, Nick Meglin and Gary Gianni. Limited To 300. Essays by Nick Meglin and Gary Gianni. Joseph Clement Coll defined the look of adventure illustration. The struggle between the gallant Sir Denis Nayland Smith and his archnemesis the insidious Dr. Fu Manchu in Sax Rohmer's classic sagas breathe and move on the page. Every nuance of form and fantasy one could imagine is evoked in Talbot Mundy's incredible tale of intrigue, King of the Khyber Rifles. THE ORIENTALISTS European Painters of Eastern Scenes
First English Edition. By Philippe Jullian. Philippe Jullian, whose particular field of expertise is the art of the 19th century, presents in this book the first world-wide study of Orientalism. In the nineteenth century the Orient exerted a curious attraction on the middle classes. Tired of the industrial revolution and in a nostalgic mood, they sought to be taken out of themselves. This need was filled by the oriental world — in this context, the Near and Middle East. Phaidon,1977. Out of Print. Condition: Very Fine....More.

JOHN HOWE Sur Les Terres De Tolkien
By StĂ©phanie Benson, Christopher Lee, Christophe Gallaz, John Howe. French Edition.  John Howe, in an obscure way, penetrated the work of the writer, went to dig in the words, to the bottom of the hobbit-hole, to the first intention. Somewhere, during his travels between words and image, he found the door to access Middle-earth, like the cupboard that allows visits to Narnia, and he decided to cross the threshold. John Howe, the happy man, walked the streets of Edoras, heard the trumpets of Minas Tirith, met Treebeard and the last Ents, smoked a pipe with Gandalf; he stood before the towers of Gondor and witnessed, no doubt in terror, the last battle against the forces of Mordor. L’Atalante/L’Office rĂ©gionale culturel de Champagne-Ardenne, 2002. Mark Ryden Anima Mundi
First Edition. By Mark Ryden. Mark Ryden‘s paintings instantly trigger a warped deja vu. His work recalls a parallel universe of 1950s Golden Books and the whimsy of Lewis Carroll. His cheery bunnies, rendered in the glowing hues of children’s books, are likely to be carving slabs of meat rather than frolicking in the forest. Ryden’s work mingles superb technique with outrĂ© images to create a world of strange and disturbing beauty. "At once intriguing and unsettling, baffling and enchanting, [Ryden’s] works ... are subtle amalgams of many sources and influences as wide-ranging as Psychedelic and Vienna School artists Neon Park and Ernst Fuchs, to classical French formalists Ingres and David." — Panik. SCORCHY SMITH AND THE ART OF NOEL SICKLES
By Bruce Canwell and Noel Sickles.Edited by Dean Mullaney. Designed by Mullaney and Dale Crain. Noel Sickles drew comics for three brief years, yet his groundbreaking work on the 1930s aviation adventure series Scorchy Smith is a milestone in the history of newspaper comic strips. Over the past 70 years, however, readers have seen only occasional excerpts of this seminal work. DW's Library of American Comics presents an oversized 352-page volume that collects, for the first time, every Sickles Scorchy strip, from 1933 to 1936, plus 140 more pages examining Sickles's other artwork and his decades as one of America's foremost magazine illustrators. IDW, 2008. Out Of Print. Condition: Very Fine. ...More.

TARZAN The Complete Russ Manning Newspaper Strips Volume 1
Edited and designed by Dean Mullaney. "Russ Manning was a natural storyteller; his instantly recognizable style, though clean, never fails to evoke the lushness of Tarzan's jungles or the reptilian textures of dinosaur skin. His story's fantasy elements were made believable by his careful rendering of the realistic, non-fantasy items and background features that were also a part of the panel's contents. Like his hero, Hal Foster (of Prince Valiant and Tarzan Fame), Manning may also be one of the most underrated writers in comics. His beautiful art is so captivating that it's easy to understand how it might overshadow his scripts."—from the Foreword by William Stout. IDW, 2013. Out of print. Condition: Very Good. Slight bumped spine corners. Dust Jacket has 1 small tear on the top of spine....More.

CREEPY PRESENTS Steve Ditko
Highly Recommended. By Archie Goodwin. Art by Steve Ditko. Stories from Creepy #9-16 and Eerie #3-10, 1966-67. Hyperbole aside, this is some of Ditko's most innovative and exciting work. Making a lasting mark on comics as the co-creator of Spider-Man, Steve Ditko veered away from the mainstream and into darker territories at the end of the sixties, especially with his work in Creepy and Eerie! Warring wizards, paranoid goons, persistent heroes, and otherworldly domains dominate the diverse tales in this handsome hardcover collection—with fifteen of the sixteen stories written by fellow comics icon Archie Goodwin. Popular Jokes set of six Humorama magazines from the late 1960's to late 1980's. In the late 1960's Humorama went from "Digest" size to "Magazine" size. The artists for the cartoon panels included greats Bill Ward, Bill Wenzel, and Dan de Carlo. This batch of six includes: May 1969, November 1976, May 1977, November 1977, February 1978, May 1978.
