This is the week of heavy hitters! The Conan Colossal Edition is months late, but it was worth the wait -- beautifully done. The five volume Complete Kane is here by Karl Edward Wagner. Superman: The Definitive History is a spectacular deluxe edition. My favorite this week however still has to be the Prince Valiant Illustrator’s Special -- a must-have book for any Val fan. Eric Powell’s new sketchbook is very, very sharp. Then there’s Taschen’s Avengers now at $80, and Best of DC War Artist’s Edition revised with 20 more pages. And there’s even more. Enjoy! |

We announced a Jim Lee cover which is now sold out. We have just ONE copy of the Barry Windsor Smith signed edition [CONCHBWSS. $200], as I write this, and THREE of the unsigned edition above. These were all printed to order on a Zoop solicitation, but although we brought in extras on top of customer advance orders, it was obviously not enough. The Barry Smith was the most popular and advance orders for this and the other variants are shipping to customers this week. Of the Buscema editions, we have just four and six copies as I write this. |

SPACE GHOST Volume 1 With Only Ghosts to Comfort Us Mattina Cover Collects #1-6, 2024. Highly Recommended. By David Pepose. Art by Jonathan Lau. Very well drawn return of the classic and beloved TV hero that Alex Toth was deeply involved with. Greed and corruption flourish in the darkness between stars. With the territories of the Galactic Federation spread far and wide across the vastness of space, pirates and hijackers ransack the distant colonies with cruel disregard for the innocent scientists living within them. Yet there is a cosmic vigilante who metes out justice throughout the galaxy, bringing vengeance to those prey upon the defenseless. Some say he is a policeman who has abandoned the strictures of the law. Others say he is a phantom, the sole survivor of a war-torn planet. Dynamite, 2024. ...More. |

ALLEY OOP AND JULIUS CAESAR 1949-1950 Highly Recommended. By V.T. Hamlin. First Alley and crew have a new adventure in Moo, then they're back in the present and off on a trip to the moon! Next up, Julius Caesar has been beaten by the Britons and only Alley can come to the rescue, as he dons armor and becomes a warrior! Back in the modern day, Doc Wonmug is targeted by international gangsters! These stories and more are in this big oversized book, presenting two full years of daily strips and 78 color Sundays. As to why these two oversize books are different — ordinarily, Alley Oop daily and Sunday strips were completely separate and unrelated adventures. But, for reasons we'll never know, for three years (1946, '49, '50) , Sunday strips were integrated directly with the daily story lines, so that they were meant to be read continuously. ALLEY OOP AND THE MAN FROM 2166 1966 Hamlin/Graue Daily strips. 1965. Highly Recommended. Asteroid Icarus is plummeting toward the Earth! Will Alley find the solution to our situation when he discovers... the Man from 2166? Also, Ooola is on an adventure of her own in the old west, but she gets swept away in a balloon by a king who ends up proposing to her. But Alley is not standing by for that, not when the king already has 16 wives, which Oola doesn't know! Classic adventures from the fine period where Hamlin was still on his creation, with Dave Graue helping out before he would eventually take over the series. Acoustic Learning, 2024....More. Item Code: ALLE66 Soft Cover, 11x7, 106pg, b&w $19.99 |

KING CONAN THE ORIGINAL COMICS Omnibus Volume 1 Collecting #1-19 of King Conan, 1980-83. Recommended. A new era begins with adventures set after Conan has deposed the tyrant Numedides to become ruler of Aquilonia. But Conan on the throne is still Conan. The savage action that made him a pulp and comic book legend fills page after page, while palace intrigue adds a new level of drama with Queen Zenobia and Prince Conn, the heir to the throne, taking prominent roles. Old nemeses like Thoth-Amon return, and mystical prophecy ties Conan to the first king of the realm. Each issue is a double-sized extravaganza with scripts by the godfather of Conan comics, Roy Thomas, along with Doug Moench and Alan Zelenetz, and artwork by John Buscema and rising star (at that time) Marc Silvestri. WONDER WOMAN THE GOLDEN AGE Omnibus Volume 6 Collects Sensation Comics #105-106, Wonder Woman #48-54, 1951-52. Recommended. By Robert Kanigher. Art by Harry G. Peter. Follow the adventures of Wonder Woman in this stunning collection of her classic adventures! The series enters the 1950s; as other super heroes were falling by the wayside, Wonder Woman, along with Batman and Superman, was among the very few heroes to roll on into the 1950s and beyond. This collects the last stories in her long run in Sensation Comics, which are beginning to more fully develop her character, before major changes in the late 1950s as she morphed into the Silver Age. Issue #49 was used in SOTI, and the one from #50 in Parade of Pleasure. The last pre-code issue would be #72. DC Comics, 2025. Due: Feb....More. Item Code: WWGA06H Hard Cover, na, 704pg, Full Color |
