| ALADDIN & THE WONDERFUL LAMP A Tale from the Arabian Nights Art by Edmund Dulac, René Bull, Thomas Mackenzie et al. Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp had been one of the most loved of all the 1001 Nights stories since it was first translated from Arabic into French by Antoine Galland. It was translated into English by Edward Lane around 1840 and its popularity has only increased since then. This edition uses the Lane translation, but I have edited it to modernize the text a bit by changing obsolete words and expressions, while preserving the original charm and Victorian manners. It is suitable for children and adults alike. Dulacebooks, 2025....More. Item Code: ALADWH Hard Cover, 7x10, 134pg, Partial Color $35.00 |

With over 135 vintage illustrations, this fantastic volume would make a great gift for young and old alike. ~Marty |

This exquisite edition of A Wonder Book, complete with die-cut slipcase and two color printing throughout, plus the magnificent art by Das Pastoras, will transport readers into these beloved timeless tales. BECOMING FRAZETTA The Early Years of a Fantasy Art Master Plus GREY DAWN Limited Signed KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE COVER EDITION! Signed bookplate by Michael Finn, Sara Frazetta and Mark Schultz! Includes Frazetta's "Grey Dawn" facsimile edition. Recommended. By Michael Finn. Before he was a legend, he was just a Brooklyn kid with a pencil and a dream. Becoming Frazetta is the first book to uncover how he grew into the iconic fantasy painter we revere today. Created in collaboration with the Frazetta Girls and with unprecedented access to the Frazetta family and the archives of Bernard Baily's publishing company, this biography reveals dozens of unpublished pages Frank drew as a teen “ including more than 50 pages of art for what would have been Frank's first published solo stories had Baily's company not gone bankrupt. Includes Frank’s never-before-seen childhood story, "Grey Dawn", alongside rare art by his teacher, Professor Michele Falanga, and his early mentor, John Giunta. Rich with discoveries, this is the untold story of how Frazetta became Frazetta. Thrilling Nostalgia, 2025. Out of print. ...More. Item Code: BECFGD Hard Cover, 9x12, 380pg, Partial Color $225.00 |
| The regular edition of Becoming Frazetta (the one with the Red cover) sold well for us, finding its way into the collections of many a Frazetta collector. When the publishers approached us with the offer to claim the remaining stock of their Kickstarter Exclusive Black Cover edition, we couldn't say no. You'll no doubt be hard-pressed to say otherwise as well with this version, which features the aforementioned black cover, variant cover art, and a bonus book reprinting an early comic book, Grey Dawn, by a 13-year-old Frank Frazetta. We have limited quantities of this version, so don't sleep on this one! ~Marty |

ALSO AVAILABLE DAVID WRIGHT'S JUDY Showcase The first four story arcs in the precursor series to David Wright's Carol Day! Recommended. By John Hunter as "Peter Meriton" & David Wright. In the early 1950s David Wright made an unusual career move for a successful commercial and pinup artist — he turned to comics. An early product of his new direction was the strip Judy, which he began in 1953 with John Hunter (writing as "Peter Meriton") providing scripts. Judy was a standard adventure strip for the time — a beautiful young girl is thrust into danger with her partner, Ricky, with their treasure-hunting exploits taking them to exotic locales across the globe for a series of loosely plotted melodramas. Slingsby Bros. Ink!, 2026....More. Item Code: DAVJH Hard Cover, 12x9, 138pg, b&w $55.00 |

MEN'S ADVENTURE QUARTERLY #14 BIG, BIG, Bigfoot issue! Contributions by Stepehen R. Bissette, cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, and more. Recommended. No matter where you saw him”movies, television, comics, paperbacks, newspapers or magazines... No matter what you called him”Yeti, The Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch, Bigfoot... Hairy, man-like monsters became icons of pop culture, and men's adventure magazines played a major role in making that happen! There were scores of stories about various hominid cryptids”many historically significant”and examples of those stories, along with reprints of rarely seen articles, are presented in this latest issue of Men's Adventure Quarterly! Men's Adventure Quarterly, 2026....More. Item Code: MENQ14 Magazine, 8x10, 152pg, Partial Color $34.95 |
| As a kid, my family and I would often travel north to Grass Valley (home to Bud's Art Books) to spend the weekend at our "cabin" (more like a wooden box with a door and a window) on our small plot of land there. As night fell, my imagination conjured visions of encountering Bigfoot amongst the pines. While we never saw evidence of a cryptid visitation, I eventually got a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the production of the "Return of Bigfoot" episode of The Six Million Dollar Man while on a family vacation at Universal Studios Hollywood! Why all the Bigfoot references? Because this 14th issue of Men's Adventure Quarterly is dedicated to Bigfoot and other cryptid anthropoids! It's a great issue filled with classic stories and articles about Yetis, Skunk Apes, Sasquatches, and Mr. B. Foot himself. I really enjoyed this issue! ~Marty |

Cooke “ where the Marvel stalwart reveals the moment when comics broke his heart “ plus an in-depth biographical essay on the artist along with a gallery of his fabled amazing "warm up" artwork. Also in this issue: the tragic fate of ‘70s/’80s Marvel scripter Bill Mantlo; the inside story of early comic printers Eastern Color Printing; and interviews with Shary Flenniken (Part 2), Ivan Katz (on his father, Jack Katz), and Ric Estrada. Another great issue of CBC, this time dedicated to one of Marvel Comics' most legendary artists, "Big" John Buscema. ALTER EGO #199 Edited by Roy Thomas. P.C. Hamerlinck reveals the secret, often bitter, early-1970s war of words via correspondence between SHAZAM! artist (and Captain Marvel co-creator) C.C. Beck and DC editor Julius Schwartz! It’ll take more than one magic word to avoid a head-on collision between these two titanic talents! Plus, more FCA (Fawcett Collectors of America), Michael T. Gilbert in Mr. Monster’s Comic Crypt, and more! With an unpublished SHAZAM! cover by C.C. Beck! TwoMorrows, 2026....More. Item Code: AE199 Magazine, 8x11, 80pg, Full Color $10.95 |
|
Apparently Shazam! artist and co-creator C.C. Beck had a legendary beef with DC Comics editor Julie Schwartz during the '70s. This issue of Roy Thomas' Alter Ego examines the details that unfolded during the two creators' long war of words over the matter. Sounds to be quite interesting. And if my time in comics taught me anything it's that war... war never changes. ~Marty Click here for back issues. |

Our friends at Flesk Publishing have a great calendar of projects lined up for 2026 and into 2027. Their art book dedicated to Gary Gianni seems to be coming the soonest. According to publisher John Flesk, Gary has kept most of his original art dating back to the 1980s. He has selected over 500 of his favorite pieces for a big, 304-page collection (currently untitled), which they are referring to as "The Art of Gianni Pencils" and is now in development. This volume will reportedly be followed up by "The Art of Gianni Inks" and "The Art of Gianni Paintings" volumes, forming a massive three-volume set. We'll update you on this and more from this great publisher in the weeks ahead! |
