Wood & Kirby’s Skymasters Sundays, Bettie Page Halloween Special, ERB’s Savage Pellucidar, Graven Images is back, Likely Stories by Neil Gaiman, Moebius, DC's Super Heroines and more!

Wood & Kirby's Skymasters Sundays is here and already out of print--act now, it will be gone too soon. I also like the Miyazaki-like Isola Chapter One, the Bettie Page Halloween Special is well done, ERB's Savage Pellucidar is in two limited hardcover editions, the fine Graven Images is back with publisher file copies, Likely Stories by Neil Gaiman is a good read, Inside Moebius 3 looks good, and DC Comics Super Heroines 100 Greatest Moments is different and very well done...and well priced.

Will Murray has written an all-new Spider novel co-staring G-8 and Operator 5, Tarzan is illustrated by Mike Grell, and Fantastic Worlds: The Art of William Stout is coming soon.

Hard Cover - No Dustjacket, 9x13, 128pg, Full Color
$34.95

We sold out our first stock of the Sundays last Spring, then took backorders for dozens more copies. These are shipping out as I type this. It's taken this long to get restocked from our distributor and it is now out of print. We were told by the publisher it would be allocated. We have so few copies left we don't plan to put it in the next catalog because this listing may sell them out. Once gone, we do have a handful of slightly hurt copies that we will substitute. It was an import from Spain.

SKY MASTERS OF THE SPACE FORCE The Complete Dailies 1958-61
Our Highest Recommendation. By Jack Kirby and Wally Wood. Jack Kirby's comic strip masterpiece is presented in an archival version featuring the complete dailies. Veteran scripters Dick and Dave Wood provided these late-1950s space/action adventure stories starring Sky Masters and his gang of intrepid followers, which closely resemble Kirby's work on Challengers of the Unknown (which was being published at the same time). Kirby's artwork is stunningly embellished by Wallace Wood and later by Marvel inker extraordinaire Dick Ayers. Hermes, 2017...More.

ROBOTS 1:1 R.F. Collection Signed
Signed by Rolf Fehlbaum & limited, 1000! With USB stick of robots in action, and a poster. Recommended. Edited by Rolf Fehlbaum. This enormous volume explores the 148 space-themed toys in the R.F. Robot Collection held by the Vitra Design Museum. Largely produced in Japan between 1937 and 1973, these robots (and the occasional astronaut) are described as "small kinetic sculptures of great originality." Robots 1:1 is unique in that it shows the toys and their original box packaging (where available, as it was seldom preserved) on a scale of 1:1, with the largest robot determining the size of the book. THE COMICS OF CHARLES SCHULZ

Schulz's Peanuts ran for a half century, during which time he drew the strip and its characters to express keen observations on postwar American life and culture. As Peanuts' popularity grew, Schulz had opportunities to shape the iconography, style, and philosophy of modern life in ways he never could have imagined when he began the strip in 1950. Rare & Out of Print

We have a full color original art page from Mike Ploog's Tom Sawyer [RB325]. I have just reduced the price from $650 to $450, which includes free shipping in the U.S. If it doesn't sell by November 8, I'm going to return it to the consigner.

For fantasy art lovers we have The Art of Richard Powers and The Making of Star Wars Episode 1.

Signed by the artist David Delamare is a beautiful copy of The Nutcracker.

For Betty Boop fans is a copy of The Fleischer Story, and for pin-up and pulp fans we have The Alluring Art of Margaret Brundage.

Mature Readers

My favorite item this week is an entirely new look at Eric Stanton & The History of the Bizarre Underground. It's very well done, with literally hundreds of reproductions of paperback covers, Sweeter Gwen strips, Ditko influenced art and more.

Dita Von Tease introduces Working Girls, a very unusual look at bordello life in Pennsylvania in 1892. In 200 intimate pictures and several serious essays, we get a glimpse of life for a “fallen woman” long before most other collections were ever assembled.

We also have a new Cavewoman with a Budd Root nude cover, Moving Day.

And last, a handsome Vintage Burlesque Calendar for 2019 with Lili St Cyr, Irma the Body, Gypsy Rose Lee, Syra Marty, Sally Rand, Gina Lollobridgida, and Naja Karamuru.
