DREAM DANCE The Art of Ed Emshwiller
Recommended. The first comphrehensive monograph on the entire career of Ed Emshwiller. He painted and drew hundreds of covers and interiors for sci-fi paperbacks and hardback books, including the Ace double-novels and pulps such as Planet Stories, Future Science Fiction, and Amazing Stories. He also created his own abstract expressionist paintings, ink drawings, and prints; and had several solo and group shows. In 1964 Emshwiller shifted his focus primarily to filmmaking, often collaborating with dancers. Notable films included Thanatopsis (1962), Relativity (1966), and Chrysalis (1973). This is about 2/3's sci-fi art, 1/3 stills and film-making. Some nudity. Anthology Editions, 2019...More.

News and Notes

The Fantastic Paintings of Frank Frazetta

I mentioned earlier that we expected to see a softcover of this, but we are now being told by publisher Vanguard, that there is no softcover in the works. My mistake. This will appear—at least until further notice--only as a deluxe slipcased edition with 16 bonus pages [FANPFD. $69.99] and a hardcover edition [FANPFH. $39.95]. Orders are strong, almost entirely for the deluxe edition. Get your reservation in for the earliest delivery, we expect these in May. This is the first new Frazetta book in quite some time. See more Frank Frazetta, including file copies of the Underwood limited editions, on our website.

Watchmen: Doomsday Clock

The concluding part 2 has been announced, but because it's just $24.95 we are not yet taking backorders for it. It will include, exclusively to the direct market, a slipcase to fit both Vol 1 and 2. Volume 1 is available now [DOOM01H. $24.99, $21.99].

The Royal Book of Oz

Diamond Comic Distributors and the comic stores will only be handling the regular edition [ROYOH. $30]. We still have copies of the deluxe slipcase signed edition [ROYOD. $75]. It's limited to 250 and highly recommended, with other bonus material.
