WILL EISNER'S THE SPIRIT Artisan Edition
“Best of” compilation from IDW’s Spirit Artist’s Editions Vols 1 & 2. Our Highest Recommendation. Introduction by Denis Kitchen. Will Eisner’s work on The Spirit was, in its way, as groundbreaking as Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane. Both artistic achievements rewrote the book on sequential storytelling and had lasting impacts on all that followed them. Featured here are 17 Spirit stories all from Eisner’s peak period, 1946-1950, generally regarded as his best work on The Spirit. And all from the original artwork, with every blemish and correction! When done as an Artist’s Edition, this quickly sold out. This new smaller-sized edition offers another intimate look at this fine and rare material, page by glorious page.IDW, 2023....More.

Bud Plant Interview on icv2

If it goes up on schedule, I’ll have a link here for an article written from a 60-90 minute zoom interview conducted by Dan Gearino (Comic Shop) just a couple weeks ago. We talk about 50 years in business in the comics world, now almost 60 years as a fan. Milton Griepp asked Dan to interview me after I was nominated for the Eisner Hall of Fame (I didn’t get inducted, though). Milton wrote his very generous piece about my part in the early days of the comics direct market. I quote from that in the editorial in our latest catalog. You can download that below.
